Cohort 2026-A · Student Minimum Competency
Cell shade: share of minimum met. Corner mark: on pace to miss it. The percent is overall progress; the status comes from how many requirements are projected short. Click a name for the scorecard; arrow keys move between cells.

NREMT readiness
Unit and comprehensive exam scores next to clinical progress. Tests taken in Precept post here on their own; scores from EMSTesting, Fisdap or your LMS come in as a CSV. A student is ready when their latest comprehensive exam clears the cut score with room to spare.
Readiness by student
Import exam scores
Columns needed: student, exam, date, score. Optional: cut score, source. A name with "comprehensive", "final", "readiness" or "predictor" counts as a comprehensive exam.
Cohort weak areas
Compliance
Students upload their documents; the program checks each one before it counts. Reminders go out 60, 30 and 7 days before anything expires, and an expired item blocks hospital shifts.

Background checks and drug screens
Many colleges already order these through CastleBranch. Once the hosted version is connected to the program's CastleBranch account, results land here on their own. Until then, upload the result letter like any other document.
Attendance
Students clock in and out on their phone at the site. Location is checked against the site's address, and the program approves the hours before they count.

How location is checked
- Within 0.5 km of the site counts as on site.
- Farther away, or no location from the phone, is flagged for a person to look at. Nothing is rejected automatically.
- The phone asks the student for permission. Location is read only at clock-in and clock-out, never during the shift.
Preceptor training
A 15-minute orientation a preceptor finishes on their phone before taking students. Completion is recorded with a date and score, renews every two years, and goes in the site-visit binder.

Thank-you letters
A letter for each preceptor with the students and hours they precepted this term, signed by the program director. Useful for their own CE file and annual review.
Surveys
The CoAEMSP surveys and your own evaluations. Graduates, employers and preceptors answer from a link, with no account. Reminders repeat until the response rate reaches the target.

Team lead log
Every call the student ran as team lead, confirmed by the preceptor who watched it. Only confirmed team leads on signed field shifts count toward the minimum.
Team leads
Check a signed team lead
Every confirmation gets a code like ABCD-1234 on the record and in the export. Enter it to see exactly what the preceptor signed.
What counts
The student runs the call: scene, assessment, field impression, treatment plan, directing the crew, transport decision and handoff. The preceptor watches and steps in only if needed.
Credit needs the preceptor to confirm at least the primary assessment, field impression, treatment plan and directing the crew. Field (ALS unit) shifts only.
The preceptor confirms on the shift sign-off, or right after the call on their own phone by scanning a QR code. Once signed, the record is locked.
CoAEMSP's Student Minimum Competency matrix counts team leads in the capstone field internship (Table 4). The program sets the number; it is 20 here and can be changed in Settings.

Students furthest behind pick first. Each gets the site that closes their biggest gap fastest, within the weekly cap, compliance rules and the days your class holds.

Only days your class holds are shown. Tap a site on a day to book it. Limits: 3 shifts a week, no double-booking, hospital sites need current compliance.

What the student fills in after a shift. The preceptor gets a text to review and sign; counts post to the scorecard only once it is signed.

Tests
Build quizzes, unit exams and comprehensive exams from the question bank, publish them to a class, and see scores and item analysis as students submit. Scores post to readiness and each scorecard on their own.
Tests your program assigns, your results, and how ready you are for the NREMT.

How a test is scored
- Percent correct against the cut score you set. Unit and comprehensive exams post to Testing › Readiness and the student's scorecard.
- Every student gets the same questions in a different order, and the answer choices are shuffled too.
- Leaving the test window is recorded. It shows as a flag beside the score; it does not end the test.
- Item analysis shows how many got each question right and whether strong students did better on it than weak ones. Use it to fix or retire weak questions.

Practice
Study shows the answer and why after every question. Timed feels like a unit exam. NREMT-style adapts like the real exam: right answers bring harder questions, and it stops once it can tell which side of the passing line you are on.
